What Do You Really Want?

Apr 22, 2024

We love to ask people what they want because we know the importance of being able to think, speak, and write down what it is that we do want. By the way, this doesn't only apply to the tangible things we want to create but also to how we want to feel.

We have realized that many people don't know what they want. They either haven't chosen to spend time thinking about it, don't believe they have the power to create desired things or are too busy experiencing unwanted items to stop and focus on the things they want.

You might relate to one of those reasons or may have your reason for not taking the time to identify what you want to create or how you want to feel. However, now is the time to stop and take some time to do so.

If you are unsure how to start this process, think about where you are right now. We can use where we are at and how we feel to help us to begin focusing. Do you feel things aren't the way you want them to be? Think about the different areas of your life, which can include the following:

Health
Relationships (romantic and friendships)
Career
Financial
Family
Well-being (mind and spirit)

If you are not experiencing what you want in any area of your life, you can use this to define what you do desire. Sometimes, it represents the opposite of the unwanted experience. For example, if you are not experiencing good health, you would obviously want to put good health on your “wanted” list. If you don't have a romantic relationship and want one, that would be on your "what I want" list.

The other part of defining what we want is in terms of our feelings and emotions. We can use this same process that we used above. How do you generally feel today? Do you find yourself spending a lot of your time experiencing feelings such as stress, sadness, anger, or depression? If so, experiencing feelings of calm, ease, happiness, excitement, and joy might need to go on your "wanted" list.

The resistance that challenges produce in our lives gives us some good information. If we stop to identify what it's showing us, we can use that information to pivot and turn towards what we want to create.
Take a moment to create your "Wanted" list and write down some of the things you desire and some of the key emotions you want to experience. There is so much power when we write things down. It's starting the process of bringing them into existence.

Happy Writing!
